MOH Organizes a Training Course on Prevention of Infection at Dental Clinics

The Health Facilities Infection Control General Department, in collaboration with the Dentistry General Department, organized a training course in the field of prevention and control of infection at dental clinics during the period from Shaaban 9th to 10th, 1436H, in the northern border region.
 
Participants in the course were Dr. Abubakr Al-Jefri and Mr. Saud Al-Shammary from the Health Facilities Infection Control General Department, and Dr. Ali Al-Remaikhan and Dr. Saied Al-Ghamdi from the Dentistry General Department.
 
The course tackled some of the important aspects regarding infection control at dental clinics, such as the standard precautions to be followed, personal protection equipment for health practitioners, hand washing, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), safe handling of medical waste, water at dental clinics, correct methods of sterilizing dental instruments, occupational health for health practitioners and methods of infection control at x-ray rooms and dental clinics.
 
It is noteworthy that the Saudi Commission of Health Specialties has accredited 10 hours of training for the health practitioners.
