Minister of Health to Patronize the Honoring Ceremony for Winners of the Gulf Excellence Award for Health Media
His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr. Ahmad bin Aqeel Al-Khateeb, will patronize tomorrow (Monday) evening at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh the honoring ceremony for winners of the Gulf Excellence Award for Health Media in its second session of the first year (2014-2015). The ceremony will be attended by the Director-General of the Executive Board of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Health Ministers Council, senior officials of the Saudi Ministry of Health "MOH" and members of the Executive Board of the GCC Health Ministers Council.
 
The event, patronized by Al-Mahalliyya Public Affairs, will be held on the sidelines of the 78th Conference of the GCC Health Ministers Council to be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 15-16 Rabei II, 1436H, corresponding to 4-5 February 2015.
 
Dr. Tawfiq Khoja, the Director-General of the Executive Board of the GCC Health Ministers Council and the Secretary General of the Gulf Excellence Award, said that the total value of awards amounts to $ 100,000, covering seven awareness areas. In the field of awareness posters, the first place was won by Ms. Abeer Muhammad Ghawi from the Kingdom of Bahrain, while the second place went to the Health Education Department at the Supreme Council of Health, the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
 
In the field of health pages, Ms. Bedour Almalki from Bahrain came first, while the second place went to Ms. Seham bint Ahmad Almeskari from the Omani Ministry of Health.
 
In the field of social communication, the first place went to the Saudi MOH’s National Center for Health Awareness and the second place was won by Abu Dhabi Health Services Company.
 
In the field of the TV message, the first place went to the Bahraini Health Promotion Department, while the Media Production Center of the Saudi MOH came second.
 
In the field of the radio message, the first place went to Dr. Fadheilah Sherif, the Director of Health Education, UAE, and the second place to the Saudi MOH's Media Production Center.
 
The Aspetar Hospital in Qatar won the first place in the field of websites. As for the electronic applications, the Saudi MOH's National Center for Health Awareness came first.
 
In the field of the integrated media campaign, the first and second places went to the IG Events Co. in collaboration with the Health Promotion Department at the Kuwait Ministry of Health.
 
Okaz Organization for Press and Publication and Al Wasat newspaper of Bahrain received the excellence award for print media. On the other hand, the broadcasting excellence award went to both of the UFM Radio as well as the Dubai Media Incorporated's show "The Doctor".
 
Meanwhile, Dr. Khoja expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Minister of Health for patronizing and honoring the winners of the award. He also extended his best wishes and congratulations to the winners praying to Allah the Almighty to crown such efforts with success to bring about more health welfare among the citizens of the GCC and contribute efficiently to raising the health awareness and promoting health among everyone.
