MOH Ready to Embark on Operating Namirah Hospital in Qunfudah

Namirah General Hospital, in Qunfudah Province, launches today (Sunday) the outpatient services and supportive medical services, marking the beginning of the first operational phase of the 50-bed hospital. The Hospital, located in north of the province, serves around 30,000 people in the region. 

The launch of outpatient clinics and supportive services came as a first phase of the multi-phased operation plan approved by a panel of experts, under the supervision of the Acting Minister of Health, Eng. Adel Faqih. 

Director of Qunfudah Health Affairs, Dr. Mostafa Baljoon, who is also supervising the operation program, said that the Hospital is one of the main health facilities in the region envisioned to provide high quality medical services within the scope of the service coordinated with the MOH Hospitals General Department, pointing that he, along with the work team, will supervise the operational phases of the Hospital, in order to ensure that all the approved operational procedures are progressing well, and laying down the foundation for high quality health service in the Hospital as a whole.

He noted that this step is not to be considered an official launch of the hospital; rather, it marks the beginning of the operation process, pointing that this phase will start with the opening of the outpatient clinics, the most important department. “Such a step,” he said, “will guarantee that the Hospital works with its full capacity and in accordance to the international technical standards to invest all capabilities leading to the improvement of its services.” 

Director General of Qunfudah Health Affairs added that “the Hospital operation is a an ongoing process,” as it contains various departments, and that they have been working for several months as part of a number of specialized teams from Makkah health affairs as well as other teams from the MOH, to enable the Hospital to provide the best medical services to the people of the province and meet their health requirements and achieve their aspirations. According to Baljoon, the process was well planned and studied, in the context of the developmental activities the Ministry is currently witnessing under the direct supervision and constant follow-up of HE the Acting Minister of Health. He added that the operation will be multi-phased with the aim of reaching, in a time span of one year (Allah willing), the full operation of all Hospital's departments and services for serving the residents and visitors of the region. 

On this occasion, Dr. Baljoon expressed his thanks and gratitude to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (May Allah preserve him) for their ongoing support and patronage of the health services. He also congratulated the people of the province for proceeding on the Hospital’s operation, and promised them to exert all efforts to serve them and upgrade the performance of the health facilities in the province. And it didn’t escape his notice to earnestly thank HE Eng. Faqih for his directives and the efforts he has been exerting to overcome all difficulties and obstacles facing the project.
