MOH Wins the ‘Achievement Award’ for the E-Medical Reporting of Expats’ Screening Service (Efada)

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT), represented by the e-Government Program (Yesser), organized yesterday, Wednesday, Muharram 19th, 1426H, corresponding to November 12th, 2014, the ceremony of the ‘e-Government Achievement Award’ at King Fahad Cultural Center in Riyadh. HRH Prince Muqrin bin Abdul-Aziz, the Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier, Adviser and Special Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, honored 11 government agencies which won the award for 16 distinguished projects and services in the different branches of the Award in its 3rd year, out of the 67 government agencies which participated in the contest with a total of 152 e-services and solutions. The ceremony included a variety of activities which included launching of several e-government services for a number of government agencies. The ceremony was attended by a number of experts and specialists in the field of e-government services. 

In the meantime, His Excellency the Deputy Minister for Health Affairs, Dr. Mansour bin Nasser Al-Howasi, said that “winning the ‘Achievement Award’ for e-Medical Reporting of Expats’ Screening Service (Efada), culminates the MOH's tireless and continuous efforts to strengthen its e-health system.”  

For his part, Dr. Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Wahaibi, the Advisor to the Minister of Health and Supervisor-General of the MOH Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Department, expressed his pride of MOH's winning of the Award, which in turn will push the MOH Portal for more work, development and excellence, especially in the e-services development sector, in a manner achieving the aspirations of the rulers and citizens, and contributing to upgrading the services provided by the Portal to its visitors. “I wish the MOH Portal is on the right track towards realizing its mission,” he said.   

In a similar fashion, Eng. Rayan Al-Fayez, the Director of the MOH Portal and e-Transactions, remarked that “winning the ‘Achievement Award for the Efada  Service’ is the fruit of the MOH's strenuous efforts exerted to develop its portal, with a view to keeping it concordant with the e-government requirements, with its special vision, as determined by Ministry's strategy, to meet citizens needs, as well as its contribution to providing the services which best enable the Portal's visitors to obtain the medical information in an easy and smooth manner.” 

It's worth mentioning here that ‘Efada’ is an e-system aims that at the automation of registering and reporting Expats' screening to the Passports General Directorate to ensure transparency and promptness.  This system also enables monitoring the performance of the healthcare centers, creating statistics as per the officials' requirement, making sure that all the MOH's approved standards are adopted. That is to be added to sending all the circulations relating to expats' screening to the healthcare centers very quickly and effectively in line with the urgent developments and contingencies. Moreover, the ‘Efada’ system, besides serving expats, also serves citizens by enabling them to make sure online that the results of expats' screening have been sent to the Passports Directorate, without need to attend in person to the hospital or the health, thus saving their time and effort.
