04 October 2014
The Director of the Jabal Ar-Rahmah Hospital, Dr. Wael Hamzah Motair, unveiled that during this year’s Hajj season (1435H), the hospital is to use the smart Digital Pen Program. It is a Program used by the clinics for registering the patients, and it includes the patient’s information. It is initiated by the entry officer, and then the patient with a paper goes to the doctor who fills the information with the digital pen, finally to the pharmacy for redeeming the medicines.

Dr. Motair affirmed that the goal of the Program is to collect precise information about the Hajj performers in terms of the numbers and medical diagnoses, contributing in the future to developing thought-out plans according to the most common e-diagnosis, and facilitating the statistics process for registering the patient’s information once the model is filled.  He went on adding that the Cardiac Referral Program will be capitalized on out of the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) interest in saving the patient’s life. To that end, the cardiac referrals will be tackled through transporting them by the air evacuation to the Makkah hospitals according to the plans agreed-upon. This is in cooperation with the coordinators assigned by the MOH, and in record time; so as not to have the patient’s life jeopardized.

Further, Dr. Motair remarked that the Referral Program (ehalati) is an e-program in which the patient’s information are entered by the computer, then it is sent to the Operations Room, where there are specialized doctors for forwarding the medical referrals to the Makkah hospitals according to the specialty concerned, and answering the sender of the request. This in turn guarantees the smoothness of the patient reaching the destination referred to electronically for completing their treatment.
