MOH: 420 Inpatients, 118 Dialysis Sessions, and 26 Cardiac Catheterizations for Pilgrims

The Ministry of Health (MOH) pointed out that its health facilities, this year, continued delivering the specific health services to Hajj performers. To that effect, it conducted 26 cardiac catheterizations, 118 dialysis sessions, one open-heart surgery and three endoscopic operations.
   
Further, the MOH briefed that 21340 diseased pilgrims visited the health facilities in the Holy Capital (Makkah) and Madinah on 4/12/1435H. The hospitals delivered their therapeutic services for 6249 patients, while 15091 ones benefited from the primary health care in the health centers all through that day. 
 
Meanwhile, a statement issued by the MOH demonstrated that the outpatient clinics of the hospitals provided their services for 4024 patients, whereas 2225 patients benefited from the ambulatory services. Similarly, the statement showed that 120 patients have been admitted to the health facilities in the Holy Capital and Madinah on Sunday, the 4th of Dhul-Hijjah. On the other hand, 92 patients have been discharged form health utilities, bringing the total number of the inpatients of MOH health facilities up to 420 ones on that day.    
 
It is noteworthy to point out that during this year’s Hajj season the MOH prepared 25 hospitals: 4 hospitals in Arafat, 4 hospitals in Mina, 7 hospitals in Makkah and 9 hospitals in Madinah, as well as King Abdullah Medical City. The number of beds allocated for the Hajj areas amounts to 5250 (including 4200 clinical beds for the various inpatient sections, 500 ICU beds, and 550 emergency beds). In addition to this, 141 permanent and seasonal health centers have been operated in the Hajj areas: 43 health centers in the Makkah, 80 health centers in the Holy Sites, 46 health centers in Arafat, 28 health centers in Mina, 6 health centers along the walkways in Muzdalifah and the Jamaraat Bridge, 28 health centers in Mina, and 18 health centers in Madinah. That is to be added to 17 emergency health centers along the Jamaraat Bridge, and three advanced ambulance centers in the Meccan Sanctuary (al-Haram al-Sharif).
 
In a similar fashion, this year has witnessed the operating of 18 medical points located in either side of the train stations, 6 medical points in Arafat, 6 medical points in Muzdalifah, and 6 medical points in Mina. Not only that, 100 small ambulances and 80 big ones equipped with the latest devices have also been provided.
