Dr. Al-Howasi Meets the Portuguese Deputy Prime Minister and His Accompanying Delegation

His Excellency the Vice Minister for Health Affairs, Dr. Mansour Al-Howasi, met at his Ministerial Office today with the Portuguese Deputy Prime Minister Paulo Portas and the accompanying delegation, currently paying an official visit to the Kingdom. During the meeting, the two parties discussed ways to enhance cooperation between both countries, especially in the health domain. Within the same vein, they have discussed a number of relevant topics, atop of which are training and scholarships, systems and information, and ways to develop and exchange expertise, as well as upgrading the scientific and professional level of the health cadres. Cooperation in the equipment, medicines and manpower domains was discussed as well.
 
The meeting was attended from the Saudi part by the Deputy Minister for Planning and Health Economics, Dr. Muhammad Al-Yemeni, the Deputy Minister for Curative Services, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hemaidi, the Advisor of the Health Minister and the Supervisor General of Relations, Media and Health Awareness Dr. Khalid Marghalani, and the Supervisor General of the International Relations, Dr. Hessah Al-Kharief.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Portuguese delegation comprised the Deputy Prime Minister Paulo Portas, the Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Manuel Ferreira, the Portuguese Ambassador to the Kingdom Mr. Manuel Carvalho, the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office Madalena Fisher, the President of the Agency of Investment and the Commercial Economy in Portugal )AICEP( Pedro Rios, the President of the Portuguese National Foundation for Medicine, Pharmacy and Medication Dr. Yuriko Castro Alves, and the Dean of the University of Minho and the Vice President of Portuguese Universities Prof. Dr. Antonio Cunha.
