As part of the health awareness activities and programs carried out by the Ministry of Health (MOH) all around the year, coinciding with the World Kidney Day, that will be celebrated this year under the theme, “Kidneys age, just like you,” the National Center for Media, Health Awareness will host Dr. Khalid Al-Sa‘ran, a Consultant in Nephrology, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.,via the Center’s toll free number: 8002494444, and the MOH account on Twitter: @SAUDIMOH.
During the hosting, Dr. Al-Sa‘ranwill answer all callers’ queries on kidney diseases, the diseases associated with them, the common symptoms, way of diagnosis, risk factors, the available medicines and ways of protection against these diseases.
For her part, the Director of the MOH National Center for Media and Health Awareness, Ph. Amal bint Mu‘awiah Abu Al-Jadayel, has pointed out that the Center’s staff are fully ready to receive any inquiries or questions concerning renal and other diseases, via the aforementioned toll free number, which is dedicated to receiving inquiries and providing health information and tips for all citizens, sick and healthy people alike.
It is worth mentioning that the World Kidney Day is a joint initiative of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations (IFKF). The World Kidney Day was first celebrated in 2006. Since then, the whole world still celebrates this day under a different theme to conveycertain massages every year.
