19 February 2014
The Ministry of Health (MOH) is participating in the Janadria Festival through a pavilion designed to show the Ministry's projects and services, as well as reviewing its development and achievements in this regard over the past years. The said pavilion will display a number of publications, photos, and models of the health projects, in addition to clinics serving the festival visitors.

Dr. Khaled Mohamed Marghalani, the Advisor to the Minister of Health and Supervisor General of Health Relations, Media and Awareness, pointed out that the MOH's participation in the 29th National Festival for Heritage and Culture (Janadria 29), organized annually by the National Guard, comes as part of the national role played by the Ministry in each national occasion. “Janadria Festival is an occasion where the glorious history is mixed up with the prosperous present and the bright future,” said Marghalani.

He added, “The importance of the festival resides in its being patronized by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, may Allah protect him, and attended by a plethora of princes, ministers, VIPs, as well as Arab and foreign guests. The festival covers a wide range of social, cultural, artistic, literary and heritage-related events and activities, in which all the Kingdom's regions participate, in addition to a number of ministries, and governmental, social and cultural bodies, among which is the Ministry of Health (MOH), whose participation this year, as said, comes within this national framework.”

The MOH's participation in the festival, according to Marghalani, is meant to shed light on the tremendous national achievements that the Ministry managed to accomplish, side by side with educating the public and raising their health awareness by means of clinics and the accompanying events.

Dr. Marghalani went on to say that the MOH's participation, as represented by its pavilion, is intended to introduce visitors with the health premises, raise their awareness of health problems, and draw attention to the health awareness campaigns through brochures on diseases and the health awareness activities, as well as reviewing the evolution phases of the health services in the Kingdom since the inception of the MOH till the present time. In doing so, visitors of the festival will be acquainted with the colossal role played by the Ministry in developing such services, and bringing about a quantum leap in health services.

Over and above, the events and activities of the MOH Pavilion shall highlight the medical and service programs recently created by the Ministry within its comprehensive strategy, in its quest to provide best-quality services to the patients, given they are the focus of the health service as a whole. In this spirit, the Ministry has carried out numerous health programs targeting patients in the first place, thus putting into effect the MOH slogan: “Patient First”. These programs include, but not limited to, the Patient Relations Program, the Bed Management Program, the Visiting Physician Program, HESN Program, the Critical Medical Errors Program, and the Home Medicine Program, aside from the programs meant to improving quality and patient safety, and the human development and training programs.

Last, but not least, the MOH Pavilion at Janadria 29 will be drawing attention to the medical cities and specialist hospitals. They are: King Khaled Medical City (serving the Eastern Region), King Faisal Medical City (serving the Southern Regions), Prince Mohamed bin Abdulaziz Medical City (serving the Northern Regions), King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah, and King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh. That is to be added to the specialized medical centers, such as the oncology an cardiology centers.
