MOH Fines Private Health Institutions SR 67.000

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has approved the decision of the Private Health Institutions' Violations Consideration Committee at Taif Health Affairs General Directorate, fining the owner of a pharmacy SR 52.000; due to non-compliance with the Pharmaceutical Installations and Products Law and its Regulations.
The decision was issued after detecting some irregularities, including the expiry of the pharmacy’s license, and the lack of a PC there, as well as finding expired “Dexamethasone” ampoules and “Varenicline” tablets.
 
Furthermore, the MOH has approved the decision of the above-mentioned committee in Asir, fining the owner of a pharmacy SR 5.000; due to hiring unlicensed technical cadres, thus, violating Article (10) of the Pharmaceutical Installations and Products Law.
 
Within the same vein, the ministry has approved the decision of the aforementioned committee in Najran, fining a dentist SR 10.000; due to violating the Health Profession Practice Law, as he had used a dental drill (handpiece) with many patients at his clinic. The committee recoded also a shortage in emergency medicines as well as an expired medicine “Atropine”.
 
Over and above, the MOH has approved the decision of the Private Health Institutions' Violations Consideration Committee at Hail Health Affairs General Directorate, cancelling the license of a pediatrician, working at a private clinic in Hail; due to violating Article (32) paragraph (3) of the Health Profession Practice Law, given that he examined adult patients (aged more than 12 years) and gave then prescriptions, the matter which is out of his specialty.
 
The MOH has emphasized that it would take all the statutory procedures, including the cautionary closure, towards any health institution that does not comply with the required quality standards of health services; in an endeavor to oblige such institutions to improve their conditions and redress all irregularities observed there, pursuant to the statutory procedures.
