Dr. Al-Rabeeah Approves the Purchasing of Virus Devices for MOH's Laboratories at a Cost of Over SR 46 Million

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, has approved of the purchasing of virus devices for the laboratories at the Ministry of Health (MOH) all over the Kingdom's regions at a total cost of SR 46.874.000.
 
This was pointed out by the Advisor to the Minister of Health, and Head of MOH's Tenders Committee, Muhammad Al-Subai'i, who remarked that these ELISA devices (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) will be distributed all over the Viruses Sections at MOH health affairs directorates.
 
Within the same vein, Dr. Al-Subei'i highlighted that these devices are characterized by their open system, which could work on any solutions from any company without any obstacles. Meanwhile, they could perform any type of lab tests that rely on ELISA system. Besides, he indicated that this technique is reckoned one of the laboratorial diagnostic techniques, which is used widely at most of the pathological analytic Labs, particularly in the diagnosis of viruses; as these devices can analyze a large number of samples, at less time, and higher sensitivity (amounting to 99%.)
 
Dr. Al-Subei'i further indicated that the central laboratories are the targeted locations, which will be supported with fully automatic devices, while the hospitals of 300-500 bed capacity will be supported with half automatic devices.
 
Finally, Dr. Al-Subei'i underscored that the ministry is seeking by such procedures and devices to upgrade and improve its laboratory services all over the Kingdom's regions, and thereby contributing to promote the performance level, as well as providing clear and accurate results in the diagnosis of pathological conditions.
