MOH Warns against Dealing with Non-Statutory Health Practitioners
10 December 2013
The Assistant Deputy Minister for Private Health Sector at the Ministry of Health (MOH), Dr. Ali Al-Zawawi, has warned of dealing with the non-statutory health practitioners, working at home or within unlicensed locations.

Dr. Al-Zawawi went on adding that MOH has recently observed prevalence of the phenomenon of non-statutory health practitioners, who work with no license, or even don’t have accredited scientific certificates or qualifications, required for practicing medical professions. Besides, he indicated that MOH observed that such non-statutory practices are traded through propaganda and advertising messages via SMS, social networks, or websites and forums, which unfortunately find response from some recipients of these ads.

Within the same vein, Dr. Al-Zawawi highlighted that MOH, out of its responsibility towards the society’s health awareness, achieving the public interest, as well as maintaining the health and safety of the society, calls upon all people not to deal with such non-statutory practitioners, nor to respond to their ads, in an endeavor to avoid the severe harms that occur, May Allah prevent them; due to such practices.

Furthermore, Dr. Al-Zawawi called upon all citizens and residents to cooperate with the MOH's relevant departments, by reporting any cases  observed of such non-statutory practices by any practitioner, or at any location, through the Citizen’s Voice Service on the MOH Portal: www.moh.gov.sa, or via fax no. 011/2124196.
