Dr. Al-Rabeeah Visits "Ibtikar" Exhibit and Expresses Admiration for Creative Ideas

His Excellency the Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah expressed admiration for the creative ideas, projects and programs developed by innovators in the (Ibtikar 2013) exhibit, which is organized by the King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity, on its third round, under the title "Towards an Innovation-based Knowledge Society".
 
Meanwhile, Dr. Al-Rabeeah stressed that the Ministry of Health (MOH) supports all promising health ideas and stands by the innovators till their products are available in the market in its final form, after being subjected to research in accordance with the proper scientific method.
 
After visiting the exhibit Wednesday, Dr. Al-Rabeeah highlighted that these achievements are due to the grace of Almighty Allah and then to the generous support paid by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, May Allah protect him, to creativity and innovators.
 
Dr. Al-Rabeeah also thanked His Royal Highness the Minister of Education Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed and the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity – known as Mawhiba – on the invitation to visit the exhibit, saying that what he saw in the exhibit will ensure a promising future for the Kingdom and can compete at the local, regional and global levels.
 
Within the same vein, Dr. Al-Rabeeah noted that the MOH is participating in the exhibit with three pavilions: the headquarters of the Ministry of Health, King Fahad Medical City (KFMC) in Riyadh, and King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) in Makkah, pointing out that various health innovative and developmental programs are introduced in these pavilions such as the (Referral) program by Riyadh Health Affairs General Directorate, and the "Doctor Innovator" program by King Abdullah City in the Holy Capital, in addition to the latest medical devices and scientific innovations.
 
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Rabeeah underscored that King Abdullah Medical City, King Fahad Medical City and MOH have been among the main supporter of innovation, both for the beneficiaries of the service and for medical practitioners at the facilities and medical cities of the Ministry, pointing out that the concerned departments as well as the medical cities have already begun to support and sponsor creativity and innovation impartially, in such a manner that ensures progress of this generous country.
 
Many innovators and talented people rushed to introduce their ideas and medical innovations to the Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah during his visit yesterday.
 
Innovations have varied to include an innovation that eliminates the problems resulting from sitting in the airplane for a long period of time, especially on international flights, as well as a device – created by two students at the College of Medicine in King Saud University – that identifies the real labor pains of pregnant women.
 
The innovations included also a therapeutic lotion - invented by a female worker in Jouf Health Affairs Directorate – to reduce ear pains, and another device – developed by MOH Consultant Cardiologist Dr. Fouad bin Mohammed Daghestani - to alleviate the suffering of patients with colon cancer.
 
It is worth mentioning that the MOH's participation has received praise of all officials. The exhibit has hosted a large number of visitors from various segments who were keen to participate in it due to its various activities and events. The young people have also expressed admiration for the (Doctor Innovator) program which comprises a tent for innovative children, as well as the mobile innovation laboratory and the other inventions.
