MOH Information Center to Host Physicians and Specialists on the World Diabetes Day

As part of the Health Awareness events and activities organized by the Ministry of Health (MOH) all around the year, and coinciding with the World Diabetes Day, which is celebrated this year under the theme of “Diabetes: Protect our Future”, the MOH Media and Health Awareness Information Center is to host on Thursday, 14 November, 2013 (corresponding to 11 Muharram, 1435H), Ms. Maha Saleh Al-‘Assaf, a Specialist in Therapeutic Nutrition from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., Dr. Khalid Al-Mudaimiegh, a Consultant in Family Medicine and Diabetes, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Ph. Nouf Al-Oudah, a Specialist in Clinical Pharmacy from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Those with questions can contact the Center via its toll free number: 8002494444, and the MOH account on Facebook and Twitter: @SAUDIMOH; in order to answer all callers’ enquiries, and provide medical tips and guidelines onmaintaining health, protection against diabetes and its treatment ways.
 
It is worth mentioning that the MOH has established 20 diabetes specialized centers, and the establishment of other 8 new ones are still underway in all Kingdom’s regions and governorates. MOH, represented by the Diabetes Units and Centers Department at Hospitals General Department, is so keen to provide the best health services for diabetics, and work to raise the health awareness for each diabetic or any person who may be prone to this disease in the future, as well as providing the best health and education services. Within the same vein, MOH has adopted the National Executive Long-Term Plan for Diabetes Control over the period 2010 to 2020; so as to help protect the Saudi society against this disease. Furthermore, MOH has launched a health awareness campaign under the theme “Diabetes .. Be Vigilant to it"; in order to promote health awareness about diabetes among all society members.
