04 November 2013
His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, gave his orders to the competent authority at the Ministry of Health (MOH) to quickly facilitate awarding the new hospital project, with a total capacity of 200 beds in the governorate of Afif, to tenders. A parcel, with a total area of 378.000 m2 within the building range, was chosen for the project, and coordination is underway with the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs for allocating this parcel to the Ministry of Health.

This statement was delivered by the Director General of Riyadh Health Affairs Directorate, Dr. Adnan Abdul Kareem, pointing out that the Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development has approved to put forward the cooling coils units in the hospital to tenders, as well as allocating the necessary funds; so as to address the problem of air conditioning in the hospital. In addition, the maintenance contractor was mandated to fix some systems, including the hospital’s air conditioning system, at the expense of the former maintenance contractor.

It is worth mentioning that this comes within the framework of the Ministry's keenness and interest to provide the health care for the people of the governorate, and to improve the health services provided for them. Also, this is part of the MOH's National Integrated and Comprehensive Health Care Project, which is based on the principles of justice, equality and inclusiveness in the distribution of health services and the easy access to them.
