The Omani Deputy Prime Minister Lauds the Successful Hajj Season

His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister of Sultanate of Oman for Cabinet Affairs, Mr. Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said, lauded the efforts of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, May Allah protect him, in this year’s Hajj season, which was free from epidemic and quarantine diseases, May Allah be praised. “The outstanding health services provided by the Kingdom for the pilgrims in Makkah, Madinah and the other Holy Sites are such colossal efforts indeed,” said Mr. Al-Said.
 
This was mentioned during his meeting yesterday with His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, and a number of health ministers who were participating in the sixtieth session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, that is currently hosted by the Sultanate.
 
Furthermore, Mr. Al-Said welcomed the guests, highlighting the importance of this meeting, which reflects the joint efforts of the Member States towards the maintenance and use of modern medical systems, combating epidemics and the exchange of information between countries, in a manner that serves the common interests of every participant; in an endeavor to meet the requirements of this sector.
 
Within the same vein, His Highness also touched upon the challenges facing the health sector, which requires further cooperation between the countries, along with prioritizing the intensification of health awareness.
 
During the meeting, participants discussed ways of developing and strengthening the health systems, based on primary health care in the countries of the region, as well as the exchange of information and views on how to make health policies and programs more effective, in addition to the exchange of expertise and honing skills; in order to perform the mission entrusted to them.
