The MOH Spokesman, Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Marglani, stated that His Excellency the Minister Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin AbdulAziz Al Rabeeah, will be signing a memorandum of understanding dubbed “Environmental Management of Health Facilities” with the President of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment, and Chairman of Saudi Environmental Society, His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, in various areas such as training cadres and issuing awareness materials in the field of environment and so forth. It was signed on the sidelines of Gulf Environment and Sustainable Development Forum and International Exhibition, which was held under the auspicus of the Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, during the period of 4-6/6/1434H, (corresponding to 14-16/4/2013) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh.
This memorandum comes within the framework of the great interest the Ministry shows in environmental issues, in accordance with the leaders' directives to nurture and sustain our environment. Also, this memorandum comes in line with the coordination and the integration of efforts exerted by the society and public sectors; in order to attain an ideal, clean environment to save the globe and human’s health to achieve the National Program for Enviroment and Sustainable Development programs.
For her part, Deputy Executive Director of the Saudi Environmental Society, Dr. Majdah Aburas, clarified that signing the agreement of the Enviromental Mark comes in line with the issuance of the National Strategy of Health and Enviroment; which included certain essential points concerning organizing and adapting the proper occupational environment. She stressed on the fact that the strategy is identical and commensurate to the nature and goals of the Saudi Enviromental Society; especially that the health system as shown in the strategy calls for the necessity of the provision of the chance to guarantee public health in the society to live in a sound, healthy environment, raise health awareness and conduct studies and researches.
