In a press release, the Ministry revealed that during the inspection tours conducted by the competent department, it was found out that in some medical centers licensed by the Ministry, some health practitioners perform laser hair removal without having permission to. This problem was detected by the Ministry's recent inspection tours, and through citizens' complaints submitted to the “Citizen's Voice” service, as well as some mass media which shed light on this issue.

Dr. al-Zawawi pointed out that, emanating from the Ministry's strenuous endeavors to legalize such practices, it has addressed such shops and hairdressers to abstain from proceeding on such practices. He made clear that the Ministry will further intensify its inspection tours on the licensed health centers, to make sure that those using this technology are accredited to. In doing so, the Ministry seeks to reduce the potential harms of this technology that could entail burns, deformations and other unwanted side-effects.
Concluding his announcement, Dr. Al-Zawawi mentioned that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has made it possible for those people to contact with its officials in this regard through the “Citizen's Voice” service, on the MOH Portal (www.moh.gov.sa), or by Fax: 01-2124196.
