Dr. Al-Rabeeah Signs the Contracts of Health Projects Costing over SR 4 Billion

   At the direction of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to improve the health services provided for citizens, and in an endeavor the generous support endowed to the health sector by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, May Allah protect him, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, signed this morning (Sunday, 26/8/2012) the contracts of a number of health projects costing over SR 4 billion.
 
On this occasion, Dr. Al-Rabeeah extended sincere thanks and gratitude to the Custodian of the Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for their unstinting support health services, meanwhile treasuring this generous support which reflects the Leadership's keen interest in maintaining people's health and prosperity. The signed contracts included a contract to establish a 500-bed specialist hospital in Jazan with Al Fouzan Trading & General Construction Co., at a total cost of SR 719,278,164. They included also a contract to establish a 400-bed maternity and children hospital in Jeddah, with Al Fouzan Trading & General Construction Co., at a total cost of SR 378,902,682; in addition to carrying out the first stage of Prince Mohamed bin Abdulaziz Medical City in the Northern Region by Al Fouzan Trading & General Construction Co., at a total cost of SR 585,706,521. That is to be added to a contract to establish Al-Miqat Hospital (300 beds), in Madinah, with Al-Latifia Trading and Contracting Co., at a total cost of SR 416,542,960; and Al-Jomoum Hospital (200 beds) in Makkah, with Al-Latifia Trading and Contracting Co., at a total cost of SR 225,660,765. Among the signed contracts, also, is a contract to supervise the establishment of King Faisal Medical City in the Southern Region and Prince Mohamed bin Abdulaziz Medical City in the Northern Region with Zuhair Fayez Partnership (consultants), at a total cost of SR 138,564,000; aside from a contract Alma' Men Hospital (200 beds), along with its residence, in Assir Region, with Abdullah Al-Sayed Group, at a total cost of SR 202,045,664; as well as Khamees Meshait Hospital (300 beds), along with its residence, in Assir Region, with Bin Jarallah Group, at a total cost of SR 250.273.270.58. The contracts included also a contract to establish Al-Darb Hospital (200 beds), in Jazan, with Abdullah Al-Sayed Group, at a total cost of SR 185,222,634; and the services of the Projects Department of King Faisal Medical City in the Southern Region and Prince Mohamed bin Abdulaziz Medical City in the Northern Region with Hill International Middle East Ltd., at a total cost of SR 60.538.000; as well as additional work to the establishment and equipment of 440 health centers covering the entire Kingdom, at a total cost of SR 783.489.233.
 
Dr. Al-Rabeeah was quoted as saying, “All such huge projects reflect the King Abdullah's keen interest in health care, in an endeavor to cover all the Kingdom's regions and provinces. In doing so, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, May Allah protect him, takes the lead towards the accomplishment of justice, and provides access to health services for all citizens and residents. It is expected that theses medical cities and specialist hospitals providing their distinguished services for all over the Kingdom will achieve the objectives appointed in the MOH's health strategy, based on the National Project for Integrated and Comprehensive Health Care, based on the values of  inclusiveness and equitable distribution of health services”.
 
Concluding his statement, Dr. Al-Rabeeah prayed for Allah to protect the Kingdom, its leaders and people, and to perpetuate its safety and stability, and to confer health and well-being on all Saudis, and to guide us all to whatever beneficial for our beloved country.
