Minister of Health Signs Contracts for Health Projects with a Total Cost of over 3 Billion Riyals

    His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin AbdulAziz Al Rabeeah, has expressed his appreciation for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Crown Prince's generous support to the health sector. His Excellency affirmed that the announcement of the new fiscal year budget, which has included health projects and enormous support toward health service, embodies the Leadership's continuous interest in developing health services and providing comprehensive health care to the Saudi people.
 
While signing the contracts of health projects costing more than 3 billion Riyals, His Excellency Dr. AL Rabeeah, stated that these contracts come in line with the Ministry's ongoing efforts to provide high-quality health services to the citizens all over the Kingdom, as an implementation of the directives given by the Kingdom's Leaders.
 
Dr. AL Rabeeah clarified the Ministry of Health has exerted intensive efforts recently to make optimal use of the Kingdom’s Leaders' support to improve performance in health facilities and provide high-quality health services that meet both the Leaders’ expectations and the needs of the public. The MOH is witnessing a quantum leap and a comprehensive dynamic development in all its facilities, programs and activities harnessed for serving and satisfying patients, under the slogan (Patient First), thus implementing the directives given by the Kingdom's Leaders.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry is keen on implementing its projects using the latest architectural designs and specifications for health projects and applying the 2010 US Code.  All the specifications and equipments in all hospitals around the Kingdom have been unified to ensure the privacy of the patient and his companions. The Ministry has also been keen to ensure the provision of all means of safety and quality in addition to the application of the standards for infection control in healthcare facilities. This will be performed through institutional work and a scientific strategy, which ensures justice and inclusiveness in the distribution of health services.
 
It should be noted that these projects include the establishment of Hail General Hospital, with a capacity of 300 beds at a total cost of 249.676.633 SR, Baqiq General Hospital, with a capacity of 100 beds at a total cost of 134.128.792 SR, and establishing and furnishing medical stores in various regions throughout the Kingdom at a total cost of 114.559.512 SR, as well as non-medical operation and medical maintenance of King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital at a total cost of 119.619.168 SR. Besides, 7 of the contracts are to supply laboratories and blood transfusion services (Gulf tender No. 11), supply hospitals with equipments (Gulf tender No. 28), in addition to providing radiological equipment at a total cost of 643.839.369 SR. These machines include 104 general radiological devices, 34 digital fluoroscopy radiological devices, and 12 digital CT scan devices (16-slice).  Meanwhile, 19 contracts are to supply medications (Gulf tender No. 33 for pharmaceuticals, and Gulf tender No. 25 for vaccines) at a total cost of 1.794.350.475 SR.
