Dr. al-Rabeeah Lauds the Council of Ministers' Approval of Establishing the Diseases Control and Prevention Center

His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Rabeeah, has lauded the Council of Ministers' approval of establishing a center for diseases control and prevention under the name: “The National Center for Diseases Control and Prevention” as a part of the MOH organizational. This center will aim at reducing the spread of infectious and non-infectious diseases and endeavor to monitor, follow up, and prevent the spread of such diseases.
 
On this occasion, Dr. Al Rabeeah expressed, in his name and on behalf of all MOH employees, his deep thanks and gratitude for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, his Excellency Crown Prince, and his Excellency Second Deputy, May Allah protect them all, due to the unlimited support and interest offered to the health sector by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, May Allah protect him.
 
Dr. al-Rabeeah added that this remarkable approval reflects the interest of our wise leadership to provide the specialized healthcare for all citizens in our beloved nation, and it will have a tangible effect, Allah willing, on the development of the health services, achieve the aspiration of our rulers, and meet the health needs of citizens, under the framework of the national project for integrated and comprehensive healthcare, and in line with the efforts exerted by the MOH to maintain the health and safety of citizens and protect them against any diseases, Allah willing.
 
His Excellency the Minister of Health further mentioned that the Ministry exerts great efforts to develop the health services, and improve the performance of health institutions, pointing out that, the Ministry currently witnesses a comprehensive scope of development, and a quantum leap in all its services and facilities with the aim of providing a high-level service for patients, maintaining their safety and winning their satisfaction. The MOH also has developed and executed a range of programs that aim to serve patients and improve the quality of services rendered for them.
 
In conclusion, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Rabeeah was quoted as saying, “This center, to be established under the auspices of MOH, will play a vital role in controlling and preventing diseases, under the system of health services in the Ministry of Health, in a manner that resembles the distinguished role played by the centers of diseases control and prevention located in the United States of America and Europe, and it will greatly contribute to handling of the health issues, especially related to the control of viruses and diseases.”
It is worth mentioning that the center of diseases control and prevention will conduct the applied and scientific researches, studies and experiments in the field of improving the health sector, as well as controlling and preventing infectious and non-infectious diseases. That's to be added to monitoring and following up infectious and non-infectious diseases locally and internationally, developing a database for such diseases, supporting and facilitating the implementation of  the national strategies and policies that aim to improve the health sector and control infectious and non-infectious diseases, as well as coordinating between the authorities concerned with the implementation of such strategies and policies, and preparing the necessary plans and strategies for immediate intervention in cases of a spread of epidemics and disasters that have an effect on public health. The center will also cooperate with the other Saudi and non-Saudi centers and bodies specialized in the field of improving the health sector, as well as controlling and preventing the spread of infectious and non-infectious diseases.
