Ministry of Health Supports its Ambulatory Fleet with a 300- Ambulance Supply Contract

   For the third consecutive year, the Ministry of Health supported its ambulatory fleet with 300 ambulances equipped with the latest emergency equipments; the 3rd batch with a total cost of 73,198,500 SR. This batch will be added to the ambulances for the past couple of years. The first batch included 300 sophisticated ambulances (petrol and diesel) at a cost of 60,547,50 SR, the second one included 300 sophisticated ambulances with the highly advanced equipment at a cost of 65,805,000 SR; bringing the total number of ambulances to 900 ambulances. Such a number of ambulances were recently added to the fleet of the Ministry of Health to be distributed to different regions of the Kingdom.
In addition, 375 ambulances being put up for tender; this brings the total to 1275 new ambulances. The Ministry has been working on increasing and updating ambulances according to what is available in its yearly budget.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Health for Executive Affairs, Dr. Mansour Naser Al Howasi, pointing out that ambulatory transportation is one of the pillars of the Integrated and Comprehensive Health Care Project and plays a key role in transferring cases from one health facility to the other. This fleet will contribute to providing ambulatory services easily and efficiently according to the international standards of ambulatory advanced services.
In this occasion, Dr. Al Howasi clarified that the Ministry seeks to provide comprehensive health services for all villages and hamlets in the regions and the governorates of the Kingdom, as an implementation of the Leadership directives. He also expressed his appreciation to the support and guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, His Crown Prince and the Second Deputy toward the Ministry, and the direct supervision of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah.
