His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah, recently announced that the Ministry is conducting a feasibility study for applying health insurance within the next five years. This decision follows the Council of Ministers’ decision to assign the task to the Health Services Council and the Council of Cooperative Health Insurance.
After the inauguration of a new specialized dental center in eastern Riyadh, Dr. Al Rabeeah said that he will soon open a specialized dental center in Jeddah. Many specialized and general dental centers in many regions of the Kingdom are currently being built; a number of additional projects will be inaugurated in the near future Kingdomwide.
The Director General of Health Affairs for Riyadh, Dr. Adnan bin Sulaiman Al Abdulkarim, stated that the specialized dental center in eastern Riyadh is one of the latest projects adopted by the Ministry of Health to provide the highest standard of health, preventive and curative services in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Al Abdulkarim added that the center has been equipped to meet international technological standards, and that it is staffed by highly-qualified healthcare professionals to provide the finest medical, preventive and treatment services for both adults and children, making it the best possible choice for patients seeking high standards of diagnostic accuracy and service.
The total area of the center is more than 1300 square meters and includes 40 dental clinics with two digital X-ray units, two panoramic X-ray units and a 3D CT scan unit. All clinics are equipped with central water purification units, central suction devices and centralized sterilization units in accordance with the highest standards for preventing the transmission of infection in medical facilities.
Moreover, the Center also includes a training unit to offer education and advanced training services; this unit will be operational after accreditation from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties has been secured. In addition, it will provide therapeutic, advisory and specialist services for advanced cases referred from other dental clinics in Primary Healthcare Centers in northern Riyadh. These services include the fixed and mobile prosthodontics, root canal treatment, gum surgery, implantation, orthodontics and oral surgery.
The Director General of Health Affairs in Riyadh expressed his profound gratitude and deep thanks to HH the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz for supporting healthcare in the Kingdom to ensure the provision of high-quality services in all hospitals and public health centers.
In addition, he praised the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, the Governor of Riyadh Region, whose generosity and guidance had a significant impact on the achievement of this and other healthcare projects throughout the Riyadh region.
He also expressed his profound gratitude to His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah for attending the opening ceremony and for his directives for providing all the elements needed for the delivering the best possible health services in the field of dentistry.
HE then cut the ceremonial ribbon and toured a health education exhibition of dental preventive programs, a dental clinic and the radiology and sterilization department, where he viewed firsthand the exceptional level of service provided to patients and visitors.
