HE Minister of Health Sponsors Graduation Ceremony for Saudi Commission for Health Specialties

On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HE the Minister of Health and Head of the Board of Trustees for the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS), Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al Rabeeah, recently sponsored the Doctors and Pharmacists Graduation Ceremony for the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.  The event took place on Friday, June 10th, in Riyadh.  In his commencement speech, HE thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for giving him the honor of conveying to the graduates the King’s congratulations.

HE also said that the graduation of the 568 doctors reflects a bright future for a highly-qualified national health staff.  HE singled out Saudi female doctors in particular for their important role in developing quality healthcare services in the Kingdom. 

The graduation ceremonies began with Quran recitation, followed by the graduates’ procession. In his speech, Dr. Khalid Bin Ibrahim Al Ibrahim said that he and the 14th batch of graduates were honored to receive such royal attention, which reflects the continuing efforts of the Kingdom’s leadership and the SCFHS to produce a well-trained force of future health practitioners.  

The Secretary-General of SCFHS, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Sayegh, thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for sponsoring this event.  He also praised the King’s generous support for the nation’s healthcare sector in general, and for the SCFHS, in particular.

Of the 568doctors and pharmacists graduating, 207were female. There were also 43 medical diploma graduates, making a total of 3,611 graduates from 38 medical specialties since the Commission was established.

The ceremonies included the awarding of three Honorary Fellowships to doctors who contributed significantly to the development of healthcare services and SCFHS.  The awardees included Dr. Ibrahim Al Erani, the first Secretary-General of SCFHS, and Dr. Husain Bin Mohammed Al Ferehi.  SCFHS provides 62 certified and accredited training programs in a variety of health-related fields. 

HE the Minister of Health noted that the Saudi health sector is proud of the graduates, since the development of healthcare in the Kingdom depends on the creation of highly-qualified national healthcare staff across a broad spectrum of specialties and expertise.

Dr. Al Rabeeah also stated that SCFHS is keen to apply international quality standards and safe health practices to all of its health education and training programs.  HE also mentioned that a number of graduates were from GCC and other Arab countries, which proves the high quality of the health education system in our beloved nation, the Kingdom of Humanity.
