Minister of HealthSponsorsHealth Insurance Conference “Options & Prospects”

Under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz AlRabeeah, the Ministry of Health is organizing the "The Future of Health Insurance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," the first specialized conference of its kind. 

The conference will be held concurrently with the Saudi Medicare 2011 exhibition from 10 to 11 April, 2011, at the Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center, in cooperation with Riyadh Exhibitions Co. Ltd.
 
The MOH’s official spokesman, Dr. Khalid Marglani, stated that the conference aims to introduce fact-based scientific concepts for providing healthcare, to exchange knowledge and expertise about health insurance and healthcare services, and to innovate and develop sustainable solutions for health care financing in the Kingdom.
Moreover, he added that the conference will discuss two topics dealing with the health insurance industry in the Saudi Arabia: “Basics and Concepts of Health Insurance (Applications & Vision)” and “Global Comparison of Health Care Systems in Accordance with Political and Economic Challenges and Future Prospects.”

Distinguished experts will present a comparison between national health systems in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.
The conference will be attended by a number of local specialists and those concerned with the healthcare field in addition to twelve speakers from a number of European countries, America and South Africa.
Dr. Marglani invited everyone to attend and participate in this conference, and to benefit from the presentations and discussions about health insurance.
The official statistics of the growing insurance markets indicate that 26 insurance companies and 5 reinsurance companies operate in Saudi Arabia, in addition to 2,227 approved health services providers.  Insured members exceeded 8,400,000 persons.
