HE Minister of Health and Chairman of Health Insurance Commission, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz AL Rabeeah, held the 28th cession for Cooperative Health Insurance Commission. At the beginning of the meeting, HE welcomed the commission's members and communicates his thanks and gratitude to those who ended their services as members, for their great efforts and achievements in making the Commission' strategy plan and goals a reality and contributed in the success of Cooperative Health Insurance.
Thereafter, Secretary General of Health insurance, Dr. Abdullah Bin Ebrahim AL Shereef viewed in a detailed report the Commission achievements regarding health insurance mandatory implementation.
Figures show that Health Insurance Companies reached 26, in addition to 5 re-claim companies and 2227 approved health services providers where insured people number has reached more than 8,400,000.
The Commission had also approved the fiscal year budget 2011, discussed e-link project and approved on signing a contract with a consulting firm for the project implementation where such project contributes in developing work mechanism among related authorities.

Health Insurance Commission is chaired by HE Minister of Health and representatives of the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Such representatives are being selected by their authorizations. in addition to Chamber of Commerce and Industry representative- selected by the Minister of Commerce, Cooperative Insurance Companies representative- selected by Minister of Finance and Minister of Commerce, Private Health Sectors representative and a couple of representatives for other Governmental Health Sectors selected by the Minister of Health in coordination with their sectors.
Commission members are being assigned for three years period based on Council of Ministers resolution.
