Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz thank Minister of Health

Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior showed his appreciation to the Minister of Health, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz AL Rabeeah for the Ministry efforts in preserving public money and rationalizing spending it. This was after being informed about the Minister letter, which indicates the saving of 114.693.075 SR of H1N1 flu vaccine.
 
Moreover, he mentioned in his reply his appreciation toward the Minister and his staff for this positive move. On the other hand, Dr. AL Rabeeah expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness strong support for health services.
 
He clarified that under the directions of His Highness that stressed the importance of preserving public money and rationalizing expenditure to achieve public interest in accordance with the government efforts in order to provide the best health services for the Kingdom's people. And as a consequence of the decreasing H1N1 Flu cases, according to World Health Organization, in addition to the Glaxo Smith Kline company agreement about A (H1N1).
 
The agreement amended for the sake of the general interest. The amendment included canceling the purchase of 1.244.500 doses of A (H1N1) vaccine costing (8.711.500) Euros, the equivalent to (43.993.075) SR, and the replacement of 2.000.000 doses of A (H1N1) vaccine with 1,436 Streptococcus vaccines, which is one of the basic children vaccinations, costing (14.000.000) Euros, the equivalent to (70.700.000) SR.
 
Therefore, the total of the savings from A (H1N1) vaccine contract is (22.711.500) Euros, the equivalent to (114.693.075) SR.  His Highness stated that the Kingdom is considered one of the few countries that have been able to amend their agreement with the company without any vaccine damage, money waste or any loss; this is for the sake of the public interest.
