Mental and Social Health General Manager in the Ministry, Dr. Abdul hamid AL Habib opened a training course for the Ministry social workers entitled (Preparing Social Workers Trainers in the Health Education and Awareness Field) during the period 30/10/2010 to 3/11/2010 in Riyadh. The course is organized by Mental and Social Health General Directorate in cooperation with General Directorate for Training and Scholarship center, with the participation of more than 50 employees from different regions of the Kingdom.
Dr. Abdul hamid clarified that the general objective of this course is to form a team of specialist social workers trainers in the field of health education and communication who have the ability to plan and implement training courses that targets social workers in all provinces in order to deliver health messages that will protect and enhance the health to have a better life.
At the end of the course, participants will know how to plan for training and its methods, efficient communication basics and skills, and methods of behavioural change and healthy behaviour enforcement. In addition to identifying the most important social and mental problems of the patients and their families, planning for health education and awareness activities and programs as well as designing, producing and developing media materials. They will also be able to develop social support skills and acquire skills of presentation and running dialogues. Moreover, trainers specialized in social and mental health field and the field of health education and awareness have participated in this course.
