A policy for reducing drug prices considered
27 January 2008
The MOH Undersecretary for Executive Affairs Dr. Mansour Al-Hawasi said MOH, due to increases in drug prices, has adopted a policy for reducing prices of imported and local drugs as of 23/01/1429, being 01/02/2008. The list includes drugs of diabetes, blood pressure, heart diseases, and a number of antibiotics which are used on a large scale.
He said MOH plan is based on two steps: fixing the prices of drugs imported to the Kingdom by Saudi Riyals on one hand and reducing the prices of drugs which have been registered for more than five years on the other hand.
