Overall response to health survey may reach 90%, says Al-Jeelani
22 July 2007
The cities of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Jeddah, and Taif showed the highest response to the international health survey with a percentage of 90%, followed by Riyadh (85%), and the Eastern Province, Tabuk and Jazan (70%), said MOH Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Research, the General Coordinator of the Health Survey Ghazi Al-Jeelani.

He said the overall response of citizens and residents in all provinces has been 85% and may reach 90% upon completion of work in some provinces. He attributed the variations of the percentages to the movements of people from place to another due to the summer vacation.

According to Al-Jeelani, fifteen data entry specialists shall attend a seven day training course for entering the data collected for about 10900 families. The data entry works are expected to continue for two months after which the results of the health survey shall be announced.

He said MOH aims at utilizing the findings of the health survey for updating the health indexes of the population, establishing highly effective statistical tools for measuring health systems applied in the Kingdom, and building a detailed high quality database for use of future health policy makers.
