At the sidelines of the meetings of the Sixth GCC Conference on Primary Health Care and the Seventh Scientific Meeting of the Saudi Society of Family and Community Medicine (SSFCM), the SSFCM held a General Assembly meeting on Tuesday 05/06/2007 for electing a new Board of Directors. Dr. Tawfeeq bin Ahmed Khoja, the Executive General Manager of the GCC Council of Ministers of Health scored the highest votes (27) in the elections made during the meeting, followed by Dr. Abdullah Al-Shareef, Cooperative Health Insurance General Manger (26), Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Ghamdi (25), Dr. Khalid Bakwad (24), Dr. Mohammed Al-Rukban (20), Dr. Qasim Al-Dawood (19), and Dr. Khalid Aseeri (17). The Board Chairman and the Deputy Chairman will be selected later.
It is worth mentioning here that nomination to the Board membership requires past membership of at least two years and valid membership at the time of nomination. Nominated member must also be a specialist in a field relative to the works of the Society. He must not be a former Board member for two successive years.
