The Minister of Health Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mane will head the Kingdom delegation participating in the meetings of the first Islamic conference of ministers of health, which will be held in Kuala Lumpur during the period from June12 to June15, 2007. The delegation includes MOH Assistant Undersecretary for the Affairs of Labs and Blood Banks Abdullah Al-Zamil, MOH General Supervisor of International Health Affairs Hasan Al-Fakhiri, and MOH Medical and Pharmaceutical Licensing General Manager Ali bin Hasan Al-Zawawi. The delegation will submit a paper to the conference under the title "Health Activities in Hajj and Required Terms".
A number of topics are on the agenda, including vaccine production, malaria combating, international health laws, maternity and childhood health, preparations for avian flue, and financing health programs in member countries. A meeting will be held by the heads of the delegations for drafting the Malaysian Document 2007.
The agenda also includes signing the joint agreement between the member countries and WHO.
The effects of traditional and complementary medicine in obtaining health services will also be discussed.
