The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia shall host the 6th Conference on Gulf Family Health and the 7th Scientific Meeting for Family and Community Medicine during the period from 4 to 6 June 2007 at King Faisal Conference Hall in Riyadh.
The Minister of Health Dr. Hamad Al-Mane appreciated the approval of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for hosting the conference, which is supposed to encourage the participants to come out with recommendations that meet required ambitions.
He told reporters that the conference aims at facilitating communication and exchange of ideas between family medicine specialists in the Gulf and the world as a whole.
He said the conference will review some successful examples of family medicine applications, health management strategies, as well as the strategies of (a doctor per family) in the GCC states. Other issues on the agenda include health insurance applications, primary health care, medical education and training, and improvement of health services in the field of family medicine and primary health care.
Participants include a number of distinguished scientists in the fields of family medicine and primary health care from inside and outside the Kingdom. The conference papers will concentrate on field research concerning the Kingdom and other GCC countries.
The conference is organized by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Saudi Society for Family Medicine and the Executive Bureau of the GCC Ministers of Health.
