Preparations under way for Primary Health Care Conference

MOH Undersecretary of Executive Affairs Dr. Mansour Al-Hawasi said preparations and arrangements are under way for hosting the 6th Gulf Conference for Primary Health Care and the
 
7th Meeting for the Saudi Society for Family Medicine and Health Care in the Gulf Region. He said the preparatory works will pave the way for the conference to yield recommendations that meet the interests of the Gulf citizen.
 
He told reporters that the conference which will be held in Riyadh during the period from 4 to 6/6/2007 will be attended by a host of specialists and experts who are concerned with the health situation in the Gulf region in general and Saudi Arabia in particular.
 
He said a number of work papers shall be presented in the conference and a number of relative issues discussed. The activities also include a medical expo attended by drug companies, medical appliance companies, insurance companies, as well as health care and health education providers. Discussions of the major sessions will includes topics such as the nature of non contagious diseases in the Kingdom and Gulf region, the major programs of primary health services, protection against contagious diseases, and environmental pollution.
 
The conference, says Al-Hawasi, aims at maintaining effective communication and exchange of experiences between specialists in the Kingdom and the outside world. It will also review the most important findings in the medical field in a world encountering enormous changes at all aspects of the medical discipline.
