The MOH Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Research Mr. Ghazi Al-Jeelani opened yesterday Monday 06/04/1428H a symposium on (Restructuring Health Sector in Riyadh: The Priorities and Health Policies), which is organized by the MOH Directorate of Planning in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
According to Mr. Al-Jeelani the importance of the symposium is derived from the importance of health planning which is facing a number of challenges that hampers the efforts for upgrading the competence of provided services. Environmental changes, continuous population increasing, ever rising costs of health services, and rising demands of health services, are just examples of such challenges. He said the Ministry of Health urges all provinces to make full use of works of the symposium to which some prominent figures have been invited to deliver lectures. He claimed each province to submit a proposal for a 5 year health plan.
