Dr. Rida bin Mohammed Khalil, Head of the High Supervisory Committee of the Arabic Child Conference, which will be held in Riyadh during the period from 6 to 8/2/1428H, under the sponsorship of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, said the preparatory meetings for this important conference are under way. The conference shall be attended by the Arabic ministers of health. The Arab League Secretariat and prominent international and Arabic scholars and childhood specialists have also confirmed their attendance.
Dr. Khalil said about 15 branch committees have been formed for the preparatory works. "we want to assure our guests that the Kingdom deserves the trust bestowed on it by the Arab League and the Council of the Arabic Ministers of Health", he said. "We want to attain the ambitions of our leadership to offer maximum care to this important Arabic activity".
He appreciated the support and assistance provided to the conference committees by the Minister of Health Dr. Hamad bin Abdullah Al-Mane, who directed the Supervisory Committee and branch Committees to seek the assistance of national scholars in carrying out the works assigned to each committee.
He said the conference endeavors to realize a number of goals, including evaluation of the health status of children in the Arabic countries during the last five years (2000 – 2005), defining the obstacles and problems affecting the health status of Arabic children, and reviewing the health policies, attained achievements, and anticipations for the coming five years. It will also endeavor, through its outputs and recommendations, to formulize a view for the programs and projects to be adopted for improving the health services provided to Arabic children.
He confirmed the readiness of the High Supervisory Committee and branch committees to accept any supportive ideas or proposals from the Arabic countries or the conference guests. A link for such purposes has been added to the MOH website.
