Health situation at the Sacred Shrines under control, says Al-Ghamdi
05 December 2007
The MOH Director General of Health Centers and Chairman of the Technical Supervisory Committee on the Health Centers at the Sacred Shrines Dr. Isam bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi said MOH will continue its efforts for providing the best preventive, therapeutic, and emergency services to the pilgrims throughout the period of their presence in the sacred places.

He said MOH utilizes all its resources and manpower for achieving a disease free Hajj season, adding that the health plan for the current year includes three main phases: the preparation phase, the execution and follow up phase, and the field supervision phase.

He said the Technical Supervisory Committee on the Health Centers spares no effort in providing required manpower, including doctors, nurses, and technicians. "Our committee provides training to the staff working in the sacred areas", he said. "We aim to improve their capabilities for enabling them to deal with common and urgent cases during the Hajj season".

He said the health centers have a vital role in enlightening pilgrims on the right health habits for the purpose of controlling contagious diseases and avoiding sun strokes.

According to Dr. Al-Ghamdi, the supervisory works of the health centers has been divided among five medical teams, each team being composed of a doctor, a nurse, and an administrative staff.
