A course on: “Role of Poison Control Centers in Confronting Chemical Disasters”
Under the auspicious of His Excellency the Director General of Asir Health Affairs, with the presence of His Excellency the Director General of the Poison Control and Forensic Chemistry Centers, A course on “Role of Poison Control Centers in Confronting Chemical Disasters” is to be held on Thursday and Wednesday, 19th to 20th March, 2013 (corresponding to 7th to 8th Jumada Al-Oula, 1434).
 
Elaborate (detailed) objectives of the course's training activity:
• Recognizing the chemical disasters and its destructive effects.
• Recognizing the types of the chemical disasters and their catastrophic effects.
• Recognizing the properties of the toxic substances causing the chemical disasters.
• Discussing the most common chemical disasters in the world.
• Recognizing the basics of controlling the chemical disaster.
• Planning and getting ready for dealing with the chemical disasters.
• Role of pharmacology and toxicology information unit in confronting the chemical disaster.
• Role of poison control centers in dealing with the chemical disasters accidents.
• Coordination with emergency departments and Civil Defense to controlthe chemical disasters.
• Procedures followed in removing chemical toxins from the patient's body.
• Recognizing the antitoxins used to treat patients with chemical disasters.
