The Ministry of Health has unveiled the outcomes of the “Mohja” initiative, a national event held in Riyadh from April 17 to 18, aimed at advancing awareness and treatment of inherited blood disorders. The initiative brought together leading local and international physicians, researchers, and specialists to exchange expertise and explore the latest developments in the field.
Organized as part of the Health Sector Transformation Program under Saudi Vision 2030, the initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to improving healthcare services and enhancing the quality of life for individuals affected by genetic blood conditions. The program aligns with broader national goals to build a vibrant society supported by an efficient and responsive health system.
Over two days, participants discussed emerging trends in the diagnosis and management of inherited blood disorders, shared global best practices, and examined strategies for improving patient care and community awareness.
A standout announcement from the initiative was the designation of April 19 as World Hemophilia Day, underscoring the importance of spotlighting this chronic condition. The move aims to strengthen research efforts, promote early detection and treatment, and raise public awareness of hemophilia as one of the most significant inherited blood diseases.
The Ministry is encouraging healthcare professionals, researchers, and relevant organizations to review the findings and recommendations of the Mohja initiative and incorporate them into future programs and awareness campaigns. More details can be accessed via the following
