Visual Acuity Testing (Snellen Chart) was developed by Dr. Snellen, an ophthalmologist, in 1908. It gives a general indication of visual acuity, and is not deemed to be a diagnostic test.
Exam requirements:
1. Check the room illumination, and make sure the screen brightness is 100%.
2. Fix the mobile phone 4 feet (1.2 m) away.
3. Check your right eye, with your left eye covered, and then the other way around.
4. Read the letters from top to bottom.
