Overview:
The Global Health Survey in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a vital tool for understanding public health and community needs. It is conducted every five years under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with national and international partners such as the General Authority for Statistics, the Public Health Authority (Weqaya), and the World Health Organization. The survey aims to collect data that helps enhance the quality of healthcare services and promote individual well-being, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030. It includes interviews, questionnaires, and simple medical tests, covering key topics like chronic diseases, nutrition, and physical activity. The results contribute to better-informed health planning, raising awareness, and improving the overall quality of life in the Kingdom.
Objectives:
- Build a comprehensive health database to assess the healthcare system’s performance and improve individuals’ quality of life.
- Collect and analyze accurate, up-to-date data on the health status of the population in Saudi Arabia, including chronic diseases and behavioral factors.
- Study the health landscape of the community to identify and address major health issues with appropriate solutions.
- Promote health equity by identifying disparities across demographic and geographic groups to ensure fair and balanced healthcare services.
- Enhance understanding of healthy behavior patterns by studying health-related habits and trends in the community, such as smoking, physical activity, and dietary consumption, to guide awareness efforts
Target Group:
The survey targets all Saudi citizens and residents aged 15 years and older. A representative random sample will be selected, including 14,000 households and 14,000 individuals across different health regions throughout the Kingdom.
Survey Duration:
One full year.
