In the presence of the Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has honored on Sunday the winners of the Award of Excellence in Health Volunteering. This Award is designed to launch and develop the health volunteering system, and to promote the culture of volunteering among health practitioners and MoH's staff. Over 21 thousand volunteers participated in this tournament, and implemented more than 63 thousand volunteering hours.
From the Ministry Office, the winners are: the Assistant Agency for Hospital Affairs, the Academic Affairs and Training and Smoking Control Program. At the Affairs level, the winners are: Riyadh Health Affairs and Asir Health Affairs. The winning hospitals include: King Saud Medical City, King Fahad Specialist Hospital - Dammam and Taif Mental Health Hospital. The winning health centers are: Abu Selim Health Center, Thadik Health Center, Al-Jazeera Consultation Health Center and Al Wadeen Health Center.
The Award is specified according a number of volunteer initiatives implemented by the facility, the number of volunteers taking part in such initiatives, in addition to the total volunteering hours realized. In the coming days, this year's Award criteria (2018) and the processes of participation by health facilities and MoH's staff will be announced.
