Northern Borders Governor Inaugurates Four Specialized Medical Centers

The Norther Borders Governor His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, in the presence of the Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, has inaugurated four specialized medical centers, namely: Oncology Center, Children Oncology Center, Behavior and Development Disorder Center and Obesity Center. During his visit to Prince Abdulaziz bin Mesa'ed Hospital - Arar, Prince Faisal has checked on inpatients and given them corsages.

After that, he attended the celebration held on this occasion. There, he reviewed the region's key achievements, in the presence of director-generals of government agencies and citizens. Then, accompanied by Dr. Al Rabiah, His Royal Highness inaugurated Central Al-Salehiah Model Health Center. He also listened to citizens' requests and inquiries on health services in the region.

Prince Faisal stressed the importance of monitoring services, harnessing all potentials to provide health services to citizens across the region, as well as the need to attract outstanding physicians throughout the Kingdom to work in region's hospitals even partially to cover any shortages and to save local population the burden of traveling for treatment. In addition, he underlined the ongoing support to the health sector rendered by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince - may Allah protect them.

After his field visits to some projects, H.H. added, "Today, we celebrate inaugurating these vital specialized centers in the Northern Borders, which stresses our righteous leadership’s interest in the health sector." He also highlighted Dr. Al Rabiah's role and attention to health development across the Kingdom; while expressing his appreciation of the achievements which draw a prosperous future and clearly reflect MOH's great endeavors and developmental services in line with the Saudi 2030 Vision.

From his part, Dr. Al Rabiah extended his deep gratitude to His Royal Highness the Northern Borders Governor for his follow up, support, field visit and ongoing attention to all health services details.  Dr. Al Rabiah said; "The Northern Borders Health Affairs features 11 hospitals, with 1,410-bed capacity, 8 specialized centers and 48 health centers." He also pointed out that there would be big expansions and extensive projects which will effectively contribute to the development of health services.

As for MOH's efforts to reduce referral of cases outside the region which have scored 50%, Dr. Al Rabiah highlighted the great developmental and service improvement chances looming in the horizon; stressing MOH's attention to developing primary healthcare over the coming days.
