In the presence of the Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has launched its project "strategy for developing the Kingdom's health volunteering system", as a form of community engagement. This project enhances community engagement in three sectors, namely, health volunteering, community services and activating the practitioners' role in providing health volunteering services, as well as securing the Kingdom's 2030 Vision.

The project seeks to ascertain the reality of health volunteering across the Kingdom, to identify health volunteering stakeholders and their roles, to create a strategy for developing health volunteering system, to determine intervention priorities, to map volunteering models for health practitioners, and to bring in global experiences in health volunteering.

After the official launch, the project team held a workshop with stakeholders. This workshop featured the project's first event to consider the actual reality, to identify needs, to enhance cooperation and to maximize the impact of health volunteering across the Kingdom. Dr. Al-Rabiah participated in the workshop, which has strengthened cooperation, coordination and communication with the community.

The launch ceremony was graced by concerned individuals, government, charity and private agencies, including: Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, the Saudi Red Crescent, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, some colleges of medicine, university hospitals, volunteer centers, health charitable organizations, medical volunteer teams and private hospitals.
