18 May 2017
A Saudi medical team at King Fahad Specialist Hospital (KFSH) in Tabuk has conducted a surgery to a 60-year-old patient, suffering from chronic retinal hemorrhage in his right eye.

The Ministry of Health (MOH), represented by Tabuk Health Affairs has pointed out that the surgery, which is reckoned the first of its kind in Tabuk and the Northern Region, has been crowned with success, May Allah be praised. This comes within the framework of the MOH’s keenness to provide the optimum health services for citizens and to provide them with all delicate medical specialties, including ophthalmology, the matter which alleviates the burden of traveling to specialized medical centers outside the region.

The ophthalmology section is reckoned one of those sections that have recently been operated after the launch of the hospital, within the plan of Tabuk Health Affairs Directorate to operate all medical specialties in the hospital. The section includes modern equipment, such as retinal tomography, corneal topography and imaging, conical corneal laser and breakers of the white water of all kinds, thus providing unique medical and therapeutic services to citizens. It also contributes to reducing the rate of treatment referral to advanced healthcare centers outside the region.
