The Ministry of Health (MOH) will organize next Sunday in Riyadh, the 6th forum of endocrine glands and diabetes centers and units, under the theme "Type 1 Diabetes is Incurable, but Controllable", with the participation of experts from the United States, Canada, Britain and Denmark, in addition to a number of local speakers.
The MOH said that the forum comes as part of its efforts to enhance the culture of communication among workers in these centers and units, and exchange of experiences.
It indicated that the forum aims at upgrading the efficiency of the employees in specialized diabetes centers and developing their capabilities for the sake of patients, and highlighting the importance the role of diabetes centers and units in controlling the disease and helping workers in hospitals to spread the concept among providers of health services at their facilities in all regions of the Kingdom.
It is worth mentioning that the forum will discuss a number of topics about the latest developments in treatment of diabetes for all ages, and will include scientific meeting for doctors, specialized training workshops accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS), workshops for nutrition specialists and diabetes educators on the latest developments in the techniques of insulin pump treatment and a workshop for diabetic foot specialists. Also, the forum will be accompanied by an exhibition on activities of endocrine glands and diabetes centers and units in the regions.
