30 September 2015
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that it is organizing a workshop tomorrow (Thursday) October 1st, 2015, (corresponding to Dhul-Hijjah18th, 1436H), with the participation of a distinct constellation of its leadership to discuss the Ministry's plan for development and strategic transformation. The workshop will be launched by His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, in presence of His Excellency the Vice Minister of Health, Mr. Hamad Al-Duweila', all deputies of the minister, and large number of department directors.

The workshop aims at reaching a consensus regarding the strategic agendas of the plans, work and programs of the MOH, as well as setting a roadmap to put these strategies and their supporting initiatives into action.

Along with the Minister's opening speech, the advisor to the Minister of Health, Bandar Hamooh, and the Advisor to the Vice Minister of Health Dr. Adil Al-Tash will give lectures, whilst the Deputy Minister for Planning and Transformation, Dr. Abdullah Al-Shareif is going to run the workshop.

Apart from setting long-term strategic plans, MOH has always been attaching great importance to reviewing its performance and ensuring working according to a clear action plan for the future; to develop and promote health services, and upgrade the performance of the health facilities. All these efforts are exerted to help achieve the aspirations of the rulers, and meet citizens' health needs, which will be included on the workshop's agenda.

In a similar context, His Excellency the Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, has ordered organizing a similar workshop two weeks afterwards, in Madinah, coinciding with the departure of the last batch of this year's pilgrims, with the purpose of reviewing the lessons learned from this year's Hajj season, and setting the early plans for the coming Hajj season (1437H). This workshop will discuss the positives of this Hajj season in order to uphold and further boost them; and identify challenges, difficulties and obstacles that faced the task forces so that they could avoid them in the coming season and set proper solutions.
