Minister of Health and Vice Minister Inspect King AbdulAziz Hospital in Jeddah

His Excellency Minister of Health, Eng. Khalid Al-Falih, accompanied by Vice Minister of Health, Mr. Hamad Al-Duweila', conducted an inspection visit to King AbdulAziz Hospital in Jeddah, where he checked the hospital preparations and organizational plan for Hajj.

Al-Falih met with the hospital General Supervisor, Dr. Faisal Tallab, Assistant-director for Technical Affairs, Dr. Reda Matbouly, Assistant-director for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Mr. Salah Al-Zahrani, and hospital sections' heads. During the meeting, the Minister underlined how pivotal full readiness is at this juncture, instructing the hospital's staff to do their best and utilize all capabilities to serve pilgrims.   

For his part, Tallab proclaimed that the hospital is ready to serve the pilgrims, with enough number of doctors and technicians to work around the clock during Hajj, and handle any cases they might receive from the Holy Sites, or Jeddah's land, air, and maritime entry points. Additionally, there are fully equipped crews for emergency cases – Allah forbid. The hospital has sufficient regular inpatient beds and ICU beds. It has prepared its helipad to receive air ambulances. The meeting touched upon the hospital's development project, which aims to expand the ICU with additional 50 beds, following the auspicious directions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, May Allah protect him.

Dr. Tallab presented an overview of the hospital, and a number of achievements made over the course of 25 years since its foundation. Notable achievements include: certificate of accreditation from the Saudi Central Board of Accreditation for Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), and Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, as well as obtaining accreditation of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) for training in fellowship programs.
