16 Open-Heart Operations Performed on Pilgrims

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that its hospitals and health centers located in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites have continued to provide general health services, as well as specific services (third and fourth levels), for pilgrims.
 
The Ministry's Statistical Statement showed that, over the period from 1/11 to 11/12/1434H, the MOH hospitals and specialist centers in Makkah and Madinah have performed 16 open-heart operations on pilgrims, in addition to 308 cardiac catheterization operations, 64 digestive endoscopy operations, and 1.165 dialysis sessions of both types (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis).
 
The Statistical Statement indicated, besides, that, over the mentioned period, the hospitals and health centers in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites have received 849.048.
 
Hospitals provided health services for 134.616 pilgrims, out of whom 101.393 pilgrims have been served by the outpatient clinics, and 33.223 pilgrims through ambulatory and emergency services.
 
Further, the statement mentioned that 714.432 pilgrims have benefited, over the very same period, from the primary healthcare centers diffused throughout Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites.
 
In addition, the Statistical Statement showed that 3.023 pilgrims has been hospitalized at the various specialized sections of the MOH hospitals located in the Hajj sites.
 
By now, 2.556 pilgrims have already left hospitals after receiving the necessary treatment, whereas the number of pilgrims still receiving treatment at MOH hospitals in Makkah, Madinah and the Holy Sites, till the noon of 11/12/1434H, is 680 patients.
 
And within the framework of the health services provided for pilgrims, the MOH hospitals has witnessed 12 birth deliveries of women who had come to perform Hajj.
