Dr. al-Muhsini: “Services Provided by MOH Are Amazing”
15 October 2013
The WHO coordinator of elimination and eradication of infectious diseases, and coordinator of the eradication of polio, Dr. Ezz al-Din al-Muhsini, has commended the services provided by the Saudi Ministry of Health for pilgrims.

Al-Muhsini was quoted as saying, “Even though this is the first time for me to come to the Holy Sites, representing the WHO, I am actually amazed by the level of services provided by the Saudi Ministry of Health.

I am particularly impressed by the highly equipped hospitals designated for serving pilgrims in the course of just one once, while indeed surpassing many of the world-class hospitals.

This is made clear by the fact that these hospitals are equipped with high-tech devices seldom found in many international hospitals. And taking into account that these hospitals, as said, work for just one month, we realize how magnificent the services provided for pilgrims hailing from all over the world are.”

Having said he was amazed by these health services, Dr. al-Muhsini went on to reaffirm that “these health services are not to be found in many world-class hospitals, both in terms of the services provided for pilgrims, and the speed of accomplishment.” He cited as evidence a case he himself has been a witness to how it was handled while returning from Muzdalifah.

Dr. al-Muhsini extended sincere thanks to the Saudi Government for all such services provided for pilgrims. He said, “We have been expecting such an impressing result, given the momentous health progress the Kingdom is currently witnessing.

And this should come as no surprise, for the Kingdom is already known for its high morals in the health field, just as in all other fields and walks of life, among which health comes as the first and foremost. Truth to tell, this is something for all Saudis to be proud of.”
